Biography
Raised on a farm in northern Colorado, Trent focuses his practice on banking, real estate, and natural resources matters. Before joining Garfield & Hecht, Trent worked as in-house counsel for commercial banks in Colorado and Oklahoma, and he continues to help both banks and borrowers on a wide variety of transactional and regulatory issues. Right out of law school, Trent started his legal career as an associate attorney at a boutique natural resources law firm in Denver.
At Garfield & Hecht, Trent regularly works with bank clients to negotiate and document loan transactions related to real estate purchases and asset-backed lending. He also helps banks navigate the regulatory
landscape by advising on banking, insurance, and environmental laws and regulations, and training bank employees on best practices. Outside of work, Trent likes spending time with his wife, chasing his two sons (and occasionally catching them), and walking an exuberant dog.
