Experience
Piper has been practicing law in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma for more than two decades. She primarily focuses her practice on litigation and financial services matters.
Litigation
Piper’s litigation experience includes complex business and finance issues, loan defaults, contract breaches, consumer protection claims, construction defects, fraud, governmental investigations, and real estate disputes. She has effectively represented plaintiffs and defendants in multiple class action matters involving banking, consumer protection, and oil and gas claims.
Financial Services and Banking
Piper has a deep understanding of the ever-evolving regulations and legal issues facing banks and credit unions. She has advised financial institutions on compliance matters, ensuring they adhere to the highest ethical standards while maximizing their operational efficiency. Piper’s experience representing financial institutions includes compliance and risk management; drafting and negotiating contracts; preparing for regulatory and investor/insurer examinations; interfacing with regulators and responding to MRAs; drafting policies, procedures, agreements, disclosures, and customer notices; investigating customer and whistleblower complaints; addressing data breaches and privacy matters; credit reporting; handling complex foreclosures and debt collection matters; and, mergers and acquisitions.
Family Law
Piper has recently expanded her practice to include family law. Recognizing the profound impact that divorce has on individuals and their families, she aims to provide comprehensive support to her clients, not only through the legal process but also by supplying resources addressing the emotional and financial implications to their new lives.
Probate
Utilizing her experience practicing law in Oklahoma and Texas, Piper is adept at assisting clients with ancillary probates of oil and gas and real estate assets included in some estates.
