Experience
Kursten’s commercial real estate practice focuses on development and redevelopment of mixed-use resort and ski resort communities, including land acquisitions and sales, construction financing, construction and design contracts, hotel and property management, common interest community documents and compliance, and commercial and retail leasing transactions. Her experience ranges from private developers, publicly held companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs), community associations, state agencies and school boards.
She is also well-versed in residential real estate acquisitions, sales, construction and lending matters, for both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals. Her experience extends to common interest community matters, with documentation, analysis, governance and compliance. In addition to real estate, Kursten’s practice focuses on corporate and business matters.

Representative Matters
Kursten has represented developers of mixed-use projects and community associations who endeavored to create or renovate real estate projects valued over $500 million dollars within the Vail Valley, Telluride, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, and Keystone areas. She has represented clients who own ski resorts within and outside Colorado, negotiating and acquiring the necessary real estate, permitting and hotel branding associated with ski resort development and hospitality. She has experience in negotiating all aspects of construction of a brand new K-8 charter school facility under a BEST Grant with the State of Colorado and various public agencies. She has drafted and negotiated finance documents in connection with construction of a senior care facility. She represented a nonprofit entity in construction of an affordable housing project in Eagle County.
