Experience
Kate is an associate attorney at Garfield & Hecht. Prior to joining the firm full-time, Kate interned at Garfield & Hecht for two summers and on a part-time basis throughout law school. As an intern and summer associate, she gained invaluable experience in almost every area of law the firm is involved in, from child custody disputes to property tax protests and everything in between. Currently, her practice centers around civil litigation, but she also has experience with a wide variety of transactional matters, including contract, estate planning, and real estate transactions. She has also worked closely with Garfield & Hecht’s municipal practice group and has experience working on local government matters.
Prior to law school, Kate worked as a technical writer and gained valuable experience as a writer and editor. During law school, she served as the Outreach Editor for Colorado Law Review, which helped her further hone her writing, editing, and research skills in the legal context specifically.
Kate moved to Colorado in 2019 after graduating from college in upstate New York. What was initially supposed to be a gap year to study for the LSAT turned into a permanent move after she fell in love with Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. In her free time, Kate is an avid skier, trail runner, hiker, and equestrian – you can always find her outdoors!
