Experience
With a decade of experience practicing law in Canada and the United States, Kristen brings a wide breadth of legal knowledge to her real estate and litigation practice in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Kristen spent the first eight years of her legal career practicing litigation with a focus on research and writing in Vancouver, Canada. After moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, Kristen joined Garfield & Hecht in 2024. She now focuses her practice on civil litigation, real estate, and land use planning matters, including facilitating real estate transactions, representing clients in disputes involving real estate (including landlord tenant disputes, disputes over rights of first refusal, and construction defects disputes), appealing property valuations assigned by the Assessor, and advising clients during the land development process.
Throughout her career, Kristen has been fortunate to be mentored by lawyers with exceptional research and writing skills, some of whom are dedicated research lawyers. Kristen continues to be committed to professional growth and development in all areas in which she practices. Kristen takes a client-centric approach to her work and pursues her clients’ objectives with tenacity to reach desired outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog; traveling to surf; and taking part in many of the seasonal activities the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer, including snowboarding, cross country skiing, mountain biking, and golfing.
