Garfield & Hecht, P.C. Serves The New American Schools Project

Garfield & Hecht was proud to provide pro bono legal services to The New America Schools in connection with the issuance of Colorado Educational and Cultural Facilities Authority Charter School Revenue Notes (The New America Schools Project), Series 2018 in the amount of $6,150,000, which closed on October 18, 2018.  The proceeds of the financing will allow The New America Schools to purchase the facility located on its Thornton Campus, and by eliminating rent payments The New American Schools will realize approximately $100,000 in annual savings.

The New America Schools is a system of public charter high schools dedicated to serving a unique population – recent immigrants, their families and children who want to learn or perfect English and earn a high school diploma. The mission of The New America Schools is to empower new immigrants, English language learners, and academically underserved students with the educational tools and support they need to maximize their potential, succeed and live the American dream.  Paul Wisor served as counsel to the New America School in this transaction.
